Marketing Fitness

This is not a trick question.  See how well you would answer it.  The attractive woman in her new exercise outfit—still dry with no sweat evident, goes up to the experienced, nationally-respected instructor and asked, “What is the best exercise for me?”   He answers, “It’s the exercise you will actually do—that’s what will work.  If you will actually get up every day and walk, that’s good for you.  If you will actually work out with weights, that’s good for you.”

We hope you have asked the same type of question by coming to this blog and that is “What marketing program or plan will make my business healthy, strong and fantastic?”  It’s the marketing you will actually do.  It’s so easy to read books,  go to networking events,  create web pages, and enter names in whatever database you use to just keep track of everyone you have served, want to serve or value for their referral power.  That’s not marketing.  If you are ready for a great workout and to transform your business into everything you believe it can be in a matter of weeks or months, you need to discover and stick with the program that comes to you from Robert Middleton, Action Plan Marketing.

Start with The InfoGuru Marketing Manual as a warm up and to provide a reality check on what you are about to experience. (My marketing book collection fills two bookcases and this manual is the best--a real page turner.)  A group of six marketing professionals, including yours truly, who thought we were in pretty good shape, took Middleton up on his offer to provide the inspiration and instructions, by e-mail every week, for nine weeks of his Action Plan Game.   We’re up to week four already and everyone is wheezing just to keep up.   It’s probabably the best thing we’ve ever done for our businesses and each other, as a group that makes everyone actually do it, not just talk it.  As the saying goes, that which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

A special teleclass by Middleton came at the right time, too.  First of all, it was the history-making Monday the Duct Tape Marketing Blog Channels officially launched.  The topic was Cracking the Marketing Code and it brought to life all that we’d just absorbed in the first sessions.  If you are on the east coast or United Kingdom and want more customers, register for the New York session July 16-17 or the London session July 23-24.

If you knew all of this already, then go ahead and add your comments to this blog.  I wouldn’t be surprised if our group of six is the last to learn about Middleton.  Soon after starting our workouts and new daily habits of Action Plan Marketing, we discovered that John Jantsch was featured on The Action Plan site for How to Create a Referral Flood of New Business  Then we discovered Jill Konrath--Selling to Big Companies, was another who had experienced the transformation possible by actually doing marketing, the way Middleton has helped many independent professionals for more than 20 years break through their self-imposed limitations to double, triple or qunituple their business in a few short years.

Do you have an Action Plan Marketing story that resulted in more customers? Here's your chance.  Click, type and amaze us all.

I've looked at the two pages/articles you linked to.

That may be the most interesting page/program I've seen in a year.

Thanks for sharing that with us and good luck with the new blog.

Life's short...blog hard !

I have strong intentions to become a buisnessman. I am studying at state university under a buisness management course. What I have learned so far is that " buisness is all about taking the risks. If you take you chances, only then you can take your buisness talk to the next level." I am very hopefull about becoming a successful buisnessman in near futre.
